How to Draw a Baby Elephant Step by Step
Drawing a baby elephant can be a fun and enjoyable experience, even if you are an inexperienced artist. Whether you’re a professional illustrator, or just looking for a creative way to express yourself, learning how to draw a baby elephant is a great place to start. With just a few simple steps, you can create a unique image that is sure to draw attention.
To get started, you will need the following materials: a pencil, a piece of paper, an eraser, and a drawing implement of your choosing (pen, marker, colored pencil, etc.). Begin by lightly sketching an oval shape with your pencil. This will be the body of your baby elephant. Next, draw two small circles close together at one end of the oval. These will be the eyes.
Once the eyes are in place, draw two ovals that connect to the body. These will be the ears. Then, draw two curved lines down the sides of the body to indicate the legs. Draw two more curved lines at the bottom of the body to create the trunk, and two small lines across the trunk to make it look more realistic.
Next, sketch in the tail and feet. For the tail, draw a curved line extending from the back of the elephant, and a small circle at the end. For the feet, draw four small circles at the bottom of the legs. Finally, draw two small circles at the top of the head to create the ears. You can now erase any extra lines that you don’t need.
Coloring Your Drawing
Now that your baby elephant drawing is complete, it’s time to add some color. Using the drawing implement of your choice, fill in the body and legs with a light gray or tan color. You can also add some shading to make the drawing look more realistic. For the ears, draw two small circles at the top of the head and fill them in with a darker gray or brown.
For the eyes, draw two small black circles inside the eyes. Then, draw two small white circles inside the black circles. Finally, add some details to the trunk and tail using a darker gray or brown color. You can also add some stripes to the legs if you want.
Finishing Touches
Now that your baby elephant drawing is complete, it’s time to add some finishing touches. You can add some small details to make the drawing look even more realistic. For example, you can draw small circles on the ears to indicate the wrinkles, or draw some small lines on the trunk to make it look more lifelike. You can also add some grass and other elements to the background to make it look even more interesting.
