How to Teach Kids to Draw Cinderella
Cinderella is a beloved character from one of the most classic and beloved Disney movies of all time. Every child loves to watch her story play out on the big screen, and often they want to draw their own version of the character. Drawing Cinderella is a great way to get kids interested in art and creative expression.
No matter the age or skill level of the child, teaching kids to draw Cinderella is easy and enjoyable. Below are some tips and tricks to help kids of all ages draw one of their favorite characters.
Start with Simple Shapes
When teaching kids to draw, it is important to start with simple shapes to make the process easier. Have kids start by drawing a circle for the head, two ovals for the body, and two larger ovals for the arms and legs. This simple shape will be the basis for the entire picture.
Once the basic shape is formed, have kids draw a slanted line downwards from the head to form the neck. At the bottom of the line, kids can draw another small circle to form the torso. This will help them form a more recognizable version of Cinderella.
Form a Face
Now it’s time to form a recognizable face for Cinderella. Start by having kids draw two small circles for the eyes, a small triangle for the nose, and a line for the mouth. To make the eyes more lifelike, have kids draw small circles inside of the larger circles to form pupils.
To make the face look more realistic, kids can add a few more details. Have them draw an arched line above the eyes to form the eyebrows, and draw two small ovals for the ears. They can also draw two small lines under the eyes to form the cheeks.
Draw the Dress and Hair
Now that the basic shape and face of Cinderella is formed, it’s time to draw the dress and hair. To make the dress, have kids draw a large, curved line from the neck to the middle of the body. They can then draw two curved lines from the sides of the body to the middle of the dress.
For the hair, kids can draw a few curved lines from the top of the head to the sides of the face. To make the hair look more voluminous, have them draw a few more curved lines from the sides of the head to the middle. They can also draw a few small lines from the back of the head to create the effect of a bun.
Add the Finishing Touches
Once the basic shape and features of Cinderella are complete, it’s time to add the finishing touches. Have kids draw two small circles at the bottom of the dress to form the feet. They can also draw two small ovals at the end of the arms to form the hands.
To make the picture even more lifelike, have kids draw a few small lines on the dress to form the ruffles and patterns. They can also draw a few small circles on the dress to form buttons.
Encourage Kids to be Creative
When teaching kids to draw Cinderella, it is important to encourage them to be creative and to use their own imagination. For example, have them draw different colors for the dress or draw different patterns on the dress. This will help them develop a unique version of the beloved character.
Kids can also draw different accessories for Cinderella. Have them draw a tiara for her head or a wand for her hand. They can also draw different shapes and objects around her to create a more detailed picture.
By following these simple tips and tricks, kids of all ages and skill levels can easily learn to draw Cinderella. It is a great way to get kids interested in art and creative expression. Plus, they will have a lot of fun learning how to draw one of their favorite characters.
