Drawing a Fish Step by Step
If you’ve ever wanted to draw a fish, but weren’t sure of the steps involved, you’re in luck! Drawing a fish is a fun and easy activity that anyone can do. Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist, you can still create a beautiful fish drawing. All you need is some paper, a pencil, and a little bit of patience. Just follow the steps below and you’ll have a fish drawing that you’re proud to show off!
Step 1: Start with the Basic Shape of the Fish
The first step in drawing a fish is to sketch out the basic shape. Start by drawing an oval for the body. This will be the center of the fish. Then draw two curved lines that go downwards from the oval. These will be the tail fins. Don’t worry if they don’t look perfect. You can always go back and fix them later. Now draw two more curved lines on the top of the oval. These will be the top fins. Finally, draw two small circles at the front of the fish. These will be the eyes.
Step 2: Add Detail to the Fins and Tail
Now it’s time to add some detail to the fins and tail. Start by sketching out the shape of the fins. Draw a curved line for the top fin and a wavy line for the tail fin. Make sure you draw the lines lightly so you can erase them later if needed. Then draw a few curved lines on the top and bottom of the fins. These will be the ridges of the fins. Finally, draw a curved line down the center of the tail fin. This will be the spine of the fish.
Step 3: Draw the Mouth and Gills
Next, draw the mouth and gills of the fish. Start by drawing a curved line just below the eyes. This will be the upper lip of the fish. Then draw two more curved lines just below the first line. These will be the lower lip and the gills. Finally, draw a few curved lines on the side of the head. These will be the gill slits.
Step 4: Add Details to the Body
Now it’s time to add some details to the body of the fish. Start by drawing a few curved lines around the edges of the oval. These will be the scales of the fish. Then draw a few wavy lines on the top and bottom of the fish. These will be the fins. Finally, draw a few dots on the body of the fish. These will be the spots.
Step 5: Color and Finishing Touches
Now you can color in your fish drawing. You can use colored pencils, markers, or even crayons. If you want, you can even add a few more details to your drawing. For example, you can draw a few wavy lines on the fins, or draw a few bubbles around the fish. Once you’re done, you’ll have a beautiful fish drawing that you can show off to your friends and family!
