How to Draw the Eiffel Tower
Drawing the Eiffel Tower is a great way to practice your drawing skills and learn a bit of French culture at the same time. The Eiffel Tower is an iconic structure located in Paris, France, and is a popular tourist destination. While the structure is complex, it is possible to draw a simplified version of the tower at home. With a few simple steps, you can create a sketch of the Eiffel Tower that looks realistic and is sure to impress.
Step 1: Draw the Base
The first step in drawing the Eiffel Tower is creating the base, which consists of four angled pillars. Start by drawing a horizontal line at the bottom of the paper to represent the ground. Then draw four vertical lines that meet the horizontal line at right angles and create a square. Angle the lines inward slightly so the sides of the square are slightly tapered. At the top of each line, draw another line that angles inward and connects to the other lines at the top, making a pyramid shape.
Step 2: Draw the Tower
Once the base of the Eiffel Tower is complete, draw the central pillar and the arches of the tower. Start by drawing a long vertical line that connects the top of the pyramid to the top of the paper. At the top of the vertical line, draw two horizontal lines that connect the sides of the line and make a rectangle. Then draw two curved lines that connect the vertical line to the sides of the rectangle. Finally, draw two more curved lines that connect the rectangle to the top of the pyramid.
Step 3: Draw the Details
The next step is to draw the details of the tower. Start by drawing two vertical lines at the top of the tower that connect the top of the rectangle to the top of the paper. Then draw small lines that connect the vertical lines to the sides of the rectangle. Finally, draw small vertical lines between the two curved lines at the top of the tower. These lines represent the windows of the tower.
Step 4: Add the Finishing Touches
The last step in drawing the Eiffel Tower is to add the finishing touches. Start by drawing a small circle at the top of the tower. This circle is the tip of the tower and is a signature feature of the Eiffel Tower. Then draw two more circles at the base of the tower, one on each side of the pyramid. These represent the elevator cars of the tower. Finally, draw two horizontal lines at the base of the tower. These lines represent the walkways around the base of the tower.
Now that you have completed your Eiffel Tower sketch, you can add color or shading to create a more realistic look. This is a great way to practice your drawing skills and learn a bit of French culture at the same time. With a few simple steps, you can create a sketch of the Eiffel Tower that looks realistic and is sure to impress.
