Learning how to draw a turkey is the perfect way to practice your drawing skills and give thanks this holiday season.
Drawing a turkey can be a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving or just to have some creative fun. Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced artist, drawing a turkey is a relatively simple process, and you don’t need any special supplies or drawing tools. All you need is a pencil and some paper, and you’re ready to get started! Before you begin, it may be helpful to have a reference image of a turkey, as this can make the drawing process easier and more accurate.
Step 1: Draw a Circle
The first step in drawing a turkey is to draw a circle. This will become the body of the turkey. The size of the circle will determine the size of the turkey, so if you want a larger turkey, make a larger circle. Once you’ve drawn the circle, draw two small circles inside the larger circle. These will be the eyes of the turkey.
Step 2: Draw the Beak and Feet
Next, draw a small triangle in the center of the turkey’s face for the beak. Then draw four small, angled lines at the bottom of the large circle for the turkey’s feet. These should be slightly curved and should come together at the bottom. Make sure the feet are pointing outwards, away from the body.
Step 3: Draw the Tail
The next step is to draw the turkey’s tail. To do this, draw a curved line at the back of the turkey’s body. Then draw a few smaller curved lines coming off of the larger line to create the feathers of the tail. Make sure to draw the lines at different angles and lengths to make the feathers look more realistic.
Step 4: Draw the Wings
The last step is to draw the wings. To do this, draw two curved lines coming off of the sides of the turkey’s body. Then draw a few smaller curved lines coming off of the larger lines to create the feathers. Make sure to draw the lines at different angles and lengths to make the feathers look more realistic.
Step 5: Color Your Drawing
Now that you’ve drawn your turkey, it’s time to color it! Use any colors you like to make your turkey look as realistic or as creative as you’d like. You can use markers, crayons, or colored pencils to bring your turkey to life. If you want to add some extra details, you can also draw a few curved lines on the wings and tail to make the feathers look more realistic. Now that you’ve finished your drawing, you can proudly display it on the refrigerator or in your room to show off your artistic talent!
Drawing a turkey is a great way to practice your drawing skills and to get into the holiday spirit. With just a pencil, some paper, and a little bit of creativity, you can create a beautiful turkey that you can proudly display in your home. So grab your pencil and paper and get ready to draw a turkey!
