Drawing the Historic Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic structures in the world, and it is one of the most recognizable monuments in Paris, France. It is considered to be an architectural marvel and has been a popular tourist destination since it was completed in 1889. Its unique design has inspired generations of architects and designers, and it has been the subject of countless works of art, from paintings to sculptures. If you’re an aspiring artist, you may be wondering how to draw the Eiffel Tower. While it may seem intimidating, drawing the Eiffel Tower is actually quite easy and can be accomplished by anyone with basic drawing skills.
Step 1: Sketching the Outline
The first step in drawing the Eiffel Tower is to sketch out the basic outline. Start by drawing a rough rectangle for the base of the tower. Then, draw two slightly curved lines extending from the sides of the rectangle that will form the legs of the tower. To create the arches at the top of the tower, draw two curved lines extending from the top of the rectangle. Finally, draw a line connecting the two arches at the top to complete the outline of the tower.
Step 2: Adding Details
Once you have sketched out the basic outline of the Eiffel Tower, it’s time to start adding details. Begin by drawing the two staircases that lead up to the observation deck. Draw two straight lines, one on each side of the tower, that extend from the base to the top. Then, draw several small rectangles along the lines to represent the steps. Next, draw the four legs of the tower. Start by drawing a line from the top of the tower to each of the bottom corners, then draw a line from the bottom of the tower to each of the top corners.
Once the legs are in place, draw the metal struts that make up the actual structure of the tower. Begin by drawing vertical lines from the top of the tower to the bottom of the legs. Then, draw horizontal lines connecting the vertical lines to create a latticed pattern. Finally, draw the observation deck at the top of the tower. Draw a rectangular shape at the top of the arches, and then add a few lines to represent the metal railings.
Step 3: Finishing Touches
Now that you have the basic structure of the Eiffel Tower drawn, it’s time to add the finishing touches. Start by erasing any extra lines or shapes that you don’t need. Then, use shading to give your drawing more depth and dimension. To do this, use the side of your pencil and draw quick, light strokes to give the structure more texture. Finally, add a few details such as windows, flags, and people to bring your drawing to life.
Drawing the Eiffel Tower may seem intimidating at first, but with the right steps it is actually quite easy. By following these steps you can create a realistic and detailed drawing of the Eiffel Tower that you can be proud of. So grab your pencil and paper and start sketching today!
