Cartoon beds have a distinctive look and, as such, require a little bit of practice and patience to learn how to draw them correctly. With patience and a few simple steps, anyone can learn to draw a cartoon bed.
Gather Your Supplies
Before you can learn how to draw a cartoon bed, you will need to gather the necessary supplies. You will need a pencil, eraser, paper, ruler and coloring materials such as crayons, colored pencils, markers or paint. If you are not sure what type of pencil to use, a mechanical pencil with a #2 lead is a good choice for drawing cartoon beds.
Draw the Outline of the Bed
Once you have gathered your supplies, you are ready to begin drawing your cartoon bed. Start by sketching the outline of the bed. This will form the foundation for your cartoon bed. To do this, draw a rectangular shape on your paper. This shape should be slightly wider at the top than the bottom, as this will create the illusion that the bed is leaning back. Then, draw a curved line at the top of the rectangle to create the headboard of the bed. Finally, draw a slightly curved line at the bottom of the rectangle to form the footboard.
Draw the Mattress & Pillows
Now it is time to add the mattress and pillows to your cartoon bed. To do this, draw a rectangle over the outline of the bed. This rectangle should be slightly larger than the original rectangle to give the bed a more realistic look. Then, draw four small circles at the corners of the rectangle to represent the pillows. Finally, add some lines inside the rectangle to create the illusion of a mattress.
Add Details to the Bed
Now that the outline of the bed and the mattress and pillows have been drawn, it is time to add some details to the cartoon bed. To do this, draw some small lines at the top of the headboard to create the illusion of tufts. Then, draw some small circles along the sides of the bed to create the illusion of buttons. Finally, draw some lines at the bottom of the footboard to create the illusion of a bed skirt.
Color Your Cartoon Bed
Now that you have drawn the outline and details of your cartoon bed, it is time to color it in. For a classic look, choose a light blue or pastel yellow for the mattress and pillows. For the frame, choose a darker color such as brown or black. Finally, decide on a color for the tufts, buttons and bed skirt. Once you have chosen the colors, use your coloring materials to fill in the cartoon bed.
Finish Your Cartoon Bed
Once you have colored your cartoon bed, you are ready to finish it. To do this, use your eraser to remove any stray pencil lines. This will help to create a clean and finished look for your cartoon bed. Finally, you can add any extra details such as a blanket, sheets or stuffed animals to give your cartoon bed a unique look.
Drawing a cartoon bed can be a fun and creative way to practice your drawing skills. With a few simple steps and a bit of patience, anyone can learn how to draw a cartoon bed. So grab your supplies and get started!
