Dreidel Drawing Tutorial
The dreidel is a four-sided spinning top with a special Hebrew letter on each side. It is a popular Hanukkah toy that children play with when celebrating the Jewish holiday. Drawing a dreidel is a great way to get into the Hanukkah spirit. It’s a fun activity that can be done with children, or even with friends and family. With just a few simple steps, you can draw your own dreidel and join in the festivities!
Step 1: Draw a Triangle
The first step to drawing a dreidel is to draw a triangle. Start by drawing a vertical line in the center of your paper. Then draw two short lines on either side of the vertical line, connecting the top and bottom of the vertical line to form the triangle. This will be the base of the dreidel.
Step 2: Add the Sides
Next, draw four short lines extending from the corners of the triangle. These lines should be about the same length as the triangle’s sides. Make sure the lines are evenly spaced, forming a perfect square. This will be the body of the dreidel.
Step 3: Draw the Tip
Now draw a small triangle at the top of the square. The triangle should be just a bit bigger than the square. This will be the tip of the dreidel.
Step 4: Add the Details
Now draw lines extending from the tip of the dreidel. These should be slightly curved, giving the dreidel a more realistic look. Finally, draw a small circle at the bottom of the dreidel. This will be the handle of the dreidel.
Step 5: Color in the Dreidel
Now it’s time to give your dreidel some color. You can use whatever colors you like, but traditional dreidels are usually blue and white. Use a blue marker to color in the tip, sides and handle of the dreidel. Then use a white marker to color in the triangle at the bottom. You can also add some decorations, like stars or stripes, to make your dreidel even more festive!
Step 6: Add the Hebrew Letters
The last step is to add the Hebrew letters that are found on each side of the dreidel. These letters are nun, gimel, hei and shin. Draw the letters on each side of the dreidel, using a black marker. The letters should be big enough to be clearly seen.
Step 7: Enjoy Your Dreidel!
Congrats! You have now completed your own dreidel drawing. You can display it proudly, or even give it away as a gift. You can also spin your dreidel for a fun game of chance. No matter how you choose to use it, your dreidel drawing is sure to bring you lots of festive joy during the Hanukkah season!
