How to Draw a Ninja Star
Drawing a ninja star may look like a daunting task, but with the right instructions and a bit of practice, you can master this classic art form. Ninja stars, also known as “shuriken,” have been used in traditional Japanese martial arts for centuries as a weapon. While you may never need to use a ninja star in combat, it’s still a fun and rewarding exercise to practice. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to draw a ninja star in six easy steps.
Step One: Draw a Cross
The first step in drawing a ninja star is to draw a cross. This cross serves as the foundation for the rest of the design. Start by drawing a vertical line in the center of your paper. Then, draw a horizontal line that intersects the vertical line in the middle. The points of the cross should be exactly in the center of the paper. Once you have the cross drawn, you should have two diagonal lines connecting the four points of the cross.
Step Two: Add the Arms
The next step is to add the arms to the ninja star. Starting with the top point of the cross, draw a line that extends outward, then curves back in toward the center of the cross. Make sure the line is curved and not straight. Then, repeat this same process on the other three points of the cross. The arms should all be curved in the same direction and should be of equal length.
Step Three: Add the Second Set of Arms
The third step is to add a second set of arms to the ninja star. Start at one of the points of the cross that does not have an arm already attached to it. Draw a line that extends outward and curves back in toward the center of the cross. Make sure the line is curved and not straight. Then, repeat this same process on the other three points of the cross. The arms should all be curved in the same direction and should be of equal length.
Step Four: Draw the Connecting Lines
The fourth step is to draw the connecting lines. Start at one of the points of the cross and draw a line that connects to the point directly opposite it. Do this for all four points of the cross. The lines should be curved and not straight. Make sure to keep the lines of equal length.
Step Five: Draw the Final Line
The fifth step is to draw the final line. Starting at one of the points of the cross, draw a line that extends outward and curves back in toward the center of the cross. Make sure the line is curved and not straight. Then, repeat this same process on the other three points of the cross, making sure to keep the lines of equal length.
Step Six: Add the Details
The last step is to add the details to the ninja star. Draw a circle in the center of the star, and then draw four small lines extending outward from the circle. These lines should be curved and not straight. Once you have the details added, your ninja star is complete!
Drawing a ninja star is a fun and rewarding exercise. With a bit of practice and the right instructions, you can master this classic art form. Once you have the technique down, you can start experimenting with different designs and patterns. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the next ninja star master!
