How to Draw a Turkey Easy
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to put your drawing skills to the test, and what better way to do that than with a festive turkey? Drawing a turkey is a popular activity for the holiday, and it’s an easy one, too! While there are many ways to draw a turkey, this basic method uses simple shapes and lines to achieve a classic result. After a few simple steps, you’ll have a turkey that’s ready to go on your Thanksgiving table.
Drawing the Outline of the Body
Start by drawing a large oval shape for the body of the turkey. Then draw a second oval shape directly above the first one, but make sure to make it slightly smaller. This will be the head of the turkey. To give the turkey its characteristic beak, draw a small triangle at the top of the head.
Next, draw two curved lines on the sides of the body. These should start from the top of the head and then curve down and slightly outwards towards the bottom of the oval. These lines will form the wings of the turkey.
Finally, draw two short lines at the bottom of the body to form the legs. Make sure to draw them curved and slightly outward to give the turkey a more realistic appearance.
Adding the Details
Now that you have the basic shape of the turkey, it’s time to add the details. Start by drawing a small circle at the top of the head for the eye. To give the turkey a beady eye, draw a small dot in the center of the circle.
Next, draw a curved line at the bottom of the body for the tail. This should start from the back of the body and curve up and outward. Make sure to draw a few feathers at the end of the tail for a more realistic effect.
To finish off the turkey, draw two curved lines at the bottom of the body for the feet. Make sure to draw them curved and slightly outward to give the turkey a more realistic appearance.
Coloring the Turkey
Now that you have the basic shape of the turkey, it’s time to add some color. Start by coloring the body of the turkey brown. To give the turkey its characteristic red head, color the head and neck red. Then color the wings and tail brown and the feet orange. Finally, color the beak yellow and the eyes black.
And there you have it! You now have a festive turkey that is ready to join your Thanksgiving table. With a few simple steps and some basic shapes, you can easily create a classic turkey drawing that will be a hit at any Thanksgiving gathering.
