Foxes are one of the most beloved animals in the world and Arctic foxes are no exception. These beautiful creatures have captivated the hearts of many with their fluffy white coats and striking blue eyes. Drawing an Arctic fox is not difficult, but it requires some patience. With the right direction, you can create a realistic and beautiful portrait of an Arctic fox that will be the envy of your friends.
Gather Your Supplies
In order to draw an Arctic fox, you will need the following supplies: paper, pencils, erasers, a ruler, and a few colored pencils. You can use any type of paper, but for the best results, use a thicker paper that will not easily tear or be damaged. For your pencils, use a range of hardness from a softer, 2B to a harder, 4H. This will give you the flexibility to draw both fine details and bolder lines.
Sketch Out the Basic Shapes
Begin by sketching out the basic shape of the Arctic fox. This can be done by using a ruler and a pencil to draw a series of simple shapes such as circles, ovals, and rectangles. Once you have the basic shape of the fox, draw a center line that will divide the fox into two equal halves. This will help you to keep your drawing symmetrical as you progress.
Draw the Head and Face
Now that you have the basic shape of the Arctic fox, you can start to draw the head and face. Start by drawing the muzzle of the fox by using a curved line that begins at the top of the head and ends at the tip of the nose. Then draw the eyes using two ovals, and add the ears by drawing two curved lines that connect the eyes to the sides of the head. Finally, draw the mouth by using a curved line that begins at the nose and ends at the bottom of the head.
Draw the Body and Tail
Next, draw the body of the fox by using a series of curved lines that begin at the head and end at the tip of the tail. Then draw the tail by using a series of curved lines that begin at the base of the body and end at the tip of the tail. Finally, draw the legs and paws by using a series of curved lines that begin at the base of the body and end at the tips of the toes.
Add Details and Color
Now that you have the basic shape of the fox drawn, it’s time to add the details and color. Start by adding the fur to the face, body, and tail. To do this, use a pencil to draw short, curved lines that follow the contours of the body. Then use your colored pencils to add the color of the fur. For the Arctic fox, use shades of white, gray, and black for the fur.
Details for the Eyes and Ears
Finally, add the details for the eyes and ears. For the eyes, use a pencil to draw two small circles inside the eyes. Then use a black colored pencil to draw a small circle inside each of the circles. For the ears, use a pencil to draw a curved line that follows the shape of the ears. Then use a gray colored pencil to draw a curved line inside the ears.
Finishing Touches
Once you have all the details and colors in place, you can add the finishing touches. Use a white colored pencil to add highlights to the fur. Then use a black colored pencil to draw a few small whiskers on the muzzle of the fox. Finally, use an eraser to clean up any lines that you don’t want. And that’s it! You have now drawn an Arctic fox!
