How to Draw Destroyah Step by Step
Destroyah is a fictional, giant, dinosaur-like creature created by Toho for their Godzilla franchise. It is a fan favorite creature, and is often seen as one of the most powerful and dangerous monsters in the franchise. Drawing Destroyah is a challenging task, but with a few tips and tricks, anyone can learn how to create a credible and recognizable depiction of this iconic monster.
Before you start, make sure you have the right tools. A pencil and a good eraser are essential. You’ll also need a ruler, a sharpener and a piece of paper. Choose a paper that is thick enough to withstand erasing and smudging. If you have access to a drawing tablet, you can use that as well.
Step 1: Start with the Head
Start by drawing the head of the creature. Destroyah has a very distinctive, triangular head. Use a ruler to draw a triangle for the head, and draw the eyes and the mouth of the creature inside the triangle. The eyes should be slightly slanted and the mouth should be slightly curved. Add some details to the eyes, such as pupils and highlights. You can also add some wrinkles and scales to the face to make it look more realistic. Once you’re happy with the head, move on to the body.
Step 2: Draw the Body
Destroyah has a bulky body with four legs and a long tail. Start by drawing the spine and the ribcage of the creature. Then draw the legs and the tail. Make sure to draw the legs in the correct proportions, as Destroyah’s legs are quite long and thin. Add some details such as scales, wrinkles, and claws to make the body look more realistic. Once you’re happy with the body, move on to the wings.
Step 3: Draw the Wings
Destroyah has two pairs of wings that protrude from its back. Draw the wings by first drawing the shape of the wings and then adding the details such as feathers, veins, and highlights. Make sure to draw the wings in the correct proportions, as they should be slightly curved and point upwards. Once you’re happy with the wings, move on to the feet.
Step 4: Draw the Feet
Destroyah has four long and thin feet. Start by drawing the shape of the feet, then add the details such as claws, wrinkles, and highlights. Make sure to draw the feet in the correct proportions as Destroyah’s feet are quite large and point downwards. Once you’re happy with the feet, move on to the final step.
Step 5: Add the Final Details
Now that you have the basic shape of the creature drawn, it’s time to add the final details. Add some wrinkles, scales, and highlights to make the creature look more realistic. You can also add some spikes to the back, tail, and wings to make it look even more menacing. Once you’re happy with the final details, you have successfully drawn Destroyah!
