Understand the Iconic Image

John Lennon’s “Imagine” is one of the most iconic images of all time. It is a powerful message of peace, love and understanding that speaks to people from all walks of life. The image is composed of two main elements – the iconic white dove, with an olive branch in its beak, and the iconic words of “Imagine,” written in a looping font. The combination of these two elements creates a powerful and meaningful image that has been used to inspire peace, love and understanding around the world.

Gather Your Supplies

Before you can begin to draw John Lennon’s iconic “Imagine” artwork, you will need to gather the supplies you need. You will need a pencil, eraser, paper, and a few other drawing tools. If you are feeling creative, you can also use colored pencils or markers to add a bit of color to your artwork. Additionally, you may also want to have a reference image handy to help you as you draw.

Draw the Dove

Start by drawing a rough outline of the dove in pencil. To do this, draw an oval shape with two wings and a beak. Then, draw a line down the center of the dove’s body, and draw the beak in the center. Make sure the beak is curved, and the wings are slightly curved at the ends. Once you have the outline of the dove, draw the details of the wings, body and beak.

Draw the Olive Branch

Once the dove is complete, add the olive branch. To do this, draw a curved line from the top of the dove’s beak to the bottom of the body. Then, draw the leaves of the olive branch around the curved line. Make sure to add a few details to the leaves, such as veins and texture. Finally, add the olive to the end of the branch.

Draw the Words

Once you have the dove and olive branch complete, you can move on to the words. Begin by drawing the letter “I” in the center of the dove’s body. Then, draw the rest of the letters in a looping font around the “I.” Make sure to pay attention to the spacing of the letters, as well as the size and shape. When you are finished, erase any unnecessary lines or mistakes.

Color the Artwork

If you are using colored pencils or markers, you can add color to your artwork. For the dove, you can use shades of white and gray to create a realistic look. You can also use a light yellow for the olive branch. For the words, you can use a black or gray color. If you are feeling creative, you can also add a bit of color to the background to give the artwork a more vibrant look.

Final Touches

Once you have finished drawing and coloring your artwork, you can add the final touches. You may want to add a few details to the dove and the olive branch, such as highlights and shadows. Additionally, you can add a few details to the background, such as stars or clouds. When you are finished, you can admire your artwork and be proud of your accomplishment.
