Leaves Easy Drawing: Learn How to Draw Leaves Step by Step

Drawing leaves can be a lot of fun; they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and they can be used to create interesting and beautiful works of art. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, learning how to draw leaves can be a great way to add a touch of nature to your artwork. Here are some tips to help you get started.

Choose the Right Pencil

The first step in drawing leaves is to choose the right pencil. You want to choose a pencil that is soft enough to make delicate lines, but not so soft that it will smudge easily. For leaves, a 2B or 3B pencil is usually a good choice. If you’re a beginner, you may want to try a 4B pencil – it’s softer, so it will make it easier to make the delicate lines needed for drawing leaves.

Sketch the Outline of the Leaf

Once you have chosen the right pencil, it’s time to start sketching. Start by sketching the outline of the leaf. Be sure to draw lightly, so that you can make corrections easily. As you draw, pay attention to the shape of the leaf – is it round or oval-shaped? Does it have a pointy tip or a rounded tip? These details will help you create a realistic-looking leaf.

Add Details to the Leaf

Now that you have sketched the outline of the leaf, you can start adding details. Start by adding veins to the leaf. Take your time, and draw the veins lightly, so that you can erase them if needed. You can also add small details to the edges of the leaf, such as bumps or wiggles. These details will help make the leaf look more realistic.

Shade the Leaf

Now that you’ve added the details to the leaf, it’s time to start shading. Start by shading the darkest parts of the leaf first, such as the veins or the edges. Use a light touch, and slowly build up the shading until the desired effect is achieved. Next, shade the lighter parts of the leaf. Again, use a light touch and gradually build up the shading until you are satisfied with the results.

Erase Unwanted Lines

When you are done shading, take a look at your drawing and see if there are any lines that you want to erase. If there are, use an eraser to carefully erase the lines. This will help give your drawing a more polished, professional look.

Add Finishing Touches

The last step in drawing leaves is to add any finishing touches that you may want. This could include adding a shadow or highlights to the leaf, or adding some texture to the veins. These small details can really make your drawing stand out and make it look more realistic.

Drawing leaves can be a lot of fun, and with practice and patience, you can create beautiful, realistic-looking leaves. Just remember to take your time and use a light touch when drawing, and you’ll be well on your way to creating amazing drawings. Good luck!
