How to Draw a Simple Sea Turtle Step by Step

Drawing sea turtles is a great way to learn about the environment and gain an appreciation for the creatures that inhabit our oceans. Sea turtles are beloved and iconic animals, and drawing them can be a fun and rewarding activity for kids and adults alike. Whether you’re a beginner at drawing or an experienced artist, you can create a simple sea turtle drawing that looks great with a few simple steps.

First, start by drawing the head and shell of the turtle. Draw a curved triangle for the head and a slightly larger curved triangle for the shell. Connect the two shapes with a curved line. Make sure to draw the lines lightly so you can easily erase any mistakes. For the detailing on the shell, draw a few short straight lines at the edges of the shell and a few curved lines in the center.

Next, draw the eyes and legs of the turtle. For the eyes, draw two small circles and shade them in. For the legs, draw four straight lines extending from the sides of the body. The legs should be the same length, but all four can be slightly different in angle. For the feet, draw four curved lines at the ends of the legs.

Now, draw the flippers. Draw two curved lines extending from the sides of the body, similar to the shape of a boomerang. Make sure to draw the lines lightly so you can easily erase any mistakes. Add some details to the flippers by adding some curved lines in the center of each one.

To finish the drawing, add some details to the face. Draw a curved line for the mouth and two small curved lines for the nostrils. Then, draw a few curved lines on the top of the head for the turtle’s pattern. Finally, erase any lines that you don’t need and color the drawing in. You can use colored pencils, markers, or even paint to make your turtle look unique.

Conclusion

Drawing a sea turtle is a fun and creative activity that can be done by anyone, regardless of their drawing level. By following these simple steps, you can create a simple sea turtle drawing that looks great and is sure to impress. So, grab a pencil and get started!
