The Lorax Drawing – A Brief Guide to Drawing the Iconic Character

The Lorax is an iconic character, beloved by many children and adults alike. He is a fictional character created by author Dr. Seuss, and first appeared in the children’s book of the same name. The Lorax is a lovable orange creature, who speaks for the trees and fights to protect the environment and its inhabitants. Drawing the Lorax is a great way to explore art, and create a fun and memorable character that can be used in crafts, decorations, and more. So, let’s get started!

Step 1: Start with a Circle

The first step in drawing the Lorax is to draw a large circle. This will form the overall shape of the character. Make sure to draw the circle in the center of your paper, and leave enough room for the other details. Once you have the circle drawn, add two small circles for the eyes and a large curved line for the mouth. You can also add two curved lines for the eyebrows and two small curved lines for the nose. This will form the basic face shape of the Lorax.

Step 2: Add the Body and Arms

Next, draw a curved line beneath the circle to form the body of the Lorax. This should be curved in a way that it creates a slight arch. Then, draw two long curved lines extending outward from the body to form the arms. These should be curved in a way that they make a slight “C” shape. At the end of each arm, draw three circles to form the hands. You can also add a curved line connecting the circles to create the fingers.

Step 3: Add the Legs

The next step is to draw two curved lines extending from the body to form the legs. These should be curved in a way that they make a slight “V” shape. At the end of each leg, draw two circles to form the feet. You can also add a curved line connecting the circles to create the toes. You can also add two curved lines extending from the feet to create the tail.

Step 4: Add the Details

Now it’s time to add the finer details to your Lorax drawing. Start by adding a curved line extending from the mouth to form the mustache. Then, draw two curved lines extending from the eyes to create the eyebrows. You can also add a curved line extending from the nose to create the mustache. Finally, draw two curved lines extending from the head to create the ears.

Step 5: Add the Coloring

Once you have finished drawing the Lorax, it’s time to add the color. Start by coloring the body and arms orange. Then, color the hands, feet, and tail brown. Finally, color the eyes, nose, and mustache black. You can also use different colors for the eyebrows and ears. Once you have finished coloring the Lorax, you can add a background of your choice.

Conclusion

Drawing the Lorax is a great way to express your creativity and explore art. With a little bit of practice, you can create a unique character that will be enjoyed by children and adults alike. So, grab a pencil and get started!
